Urinalysis

Urinalysis is a simple standard series of tests performed using a urine sample. Urinary tract pathology is usually evident, including everything between urinary tract infections and kidney disease. Other markers in the urine are indicative of metabolic abnormalities, for example uncontrolled diabetes and an impairment of liver function. Finally, the pH of the urine is used as an indicator of the level of accumulated acid within the body, and can be used to monitor therapies designed to gently alkalinize the body.
